See what each employee costs for a pay period, then allocate that cost across rental properties, rehab projects and office work.

TRACK REHAB PROJECT LABOR Log each employee’s worked hours under a property address or rehab project name to see allocated labor costs for the pay period. Repeat with a saved copy for each period. Project totals use each employee’s average cost per worked hour, including entered employer taxes, benefits and other costs. Materials and subcontractor invoices are not tracked in this workbook.

This editable spreadsheet, available in Excel and Google Sheets, brings wages, employer payroll taxes, benefits and other employee costs together. Enter matching-period costs and worked hours to calculate an average cost per worked hour for each employee.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

One Excel workbook (.xlsx), plus a separate Google Sheets access PDF to make your own editable copy. Both versions have four tabs: Overview, Employee Costs, Hours and Start Here. Capacity: 10 employee slots, 200 hour-allocation entries and 20 business/project summary pairs. Fictional sample entries and instructions for clearing the examples are included.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Enter gross wages, employer taxes, benefits and other costs for the same pay period. 2. Enter worked hours by employee, business and property or project. Include office/admin worked time. 3. Review employee costs, allocated costs, unallocated costs and flagged entries. 4. Add your business/project pairs to the Overview summary.

Gross wages include paid leave. Worked hours exclude paid leave, so leave costs are spread across worked time. One average employee cost rate applies across that employee's projects. This does not calculate employee pay, tax liabilities or customer invoices. Enter employer tax amounts from your payroll records. Employee tax withholding is already included within gross wages.

Amber cells are editable inputs. Reuse a saved copy for each pay period. Enter optional cost categories only when applicable and prorate monthly expenses to the period being reviewed.
